The Pilot Project

The pilot project -- digitizing Chapters 6 and 7 -- is a personal effort undertaken by an individual. However, I have had very generous support from the Digital Initiatives & Special Collections Department in the University Libraries at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Brian Pytlik Zillig and Laura Weakly showed me how to scan and OCR the text of BSIR and gave me assistance using equipment to do that. In addition, Brian, Laura, and Karin Dalziel have helped me create the XML representing the citations found in the BSIR and worked with me to create the Website. Zach Bajaber helped me with difficult programming problems. Judellen Thornton-Jaringe made some very helpful suggestions about navigation in the Website.

University of Nebraska-Lincoln law student Jackie Cornell gave me some insightful artistic advice.

Richie Graham, my colleague at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries, gave me some very insightful and valuable design advice.

I was responsible for the pilot project alone. One thing that proved is that I cannot digitize BSIR fast enough.

The Production Project

I intend to continue digitizing the rest of BSIR. I would like to enlist partners to help with the project. I cannot pay people to help, but I will gladly acknowledge help from partners. Click this link to see how you could help.
