Dur-O-Lite Sales Fliers

In the early 1950s, the Dur-O-Lite Company--a manufacturer of pencils, desk-top accessories, and novelty items--prepared fliers to use when selling "trademark" products to dealers and franchisees of national companies. Those fliers clearly show the products available and the range of companies Dur-O-Lite was selling to.

I have retained the alphabetic organization of the fliers in the List of Fliers below. I made some minor changes in the arrangement and interfiled several loose fliers.

This collection of fliers was in a large binder belonging to the late Frank Stoeberl, long-time president of Dur-O-Lite.

Notes:

The back cover of the International Harvester double fliers show the Dur-O-Lite plant at 1401 No. 25th Avenue, Melrose Park, Illinois.
The "ejector" pencils, No 520 and 522, have mechanisms providing continuous feed of lead like highly successful mechanical pencils Pilot and Pentel introduced in the 1960s and 70s.
Pencil No. T-451, Pencil No. T-453, and Pencil No. 522 use "thin" (0.036 inch) lead.
The meaning of the "MP-11" item number is a mystery. That pencil looks like the ordinary No. 451 pencil.
Apparently, "SP" item numbers stand for "special" items. A large number of special items are listed on the NAPA filer.
The lighter is only listed on the Schlitz flier.
