Laird G. Wolfe, Propaganda Leaflets | Archives & Special Collections, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries
Extent: 1.0 box(es)
Scope and Contents: Laird G. Wolfe of Red Cloud, Nebraska, served in G-2 in the US Army during the war. The collection includes leaflets, newspapers, and posters that he saved from store windows in Manila. The leaflets in the collection were produced mainly by the Japanese intelligence forces and were targeted at Australian, Dutch and American troops. Several of the propaganda leaflets aimed at the Australians were designed to cause dissatisfaction between them and the US forces. Franklin D. Roosevelt is often portrayed as a villain in both leaflets for the Australians and the Americans.
