Willa
Cather wrote in a letter to her Aunt Franc on 12 June
1918 that she felt proud that a Cather sacrificed his
life for a great cause. Two years later, while traveling
in France, Willa found her cousin's gravesite in Villiers
Tournelle, near Cantigny. |

As part of his officer training,
G.P. kept notes that reflect the information he learned
about artillery, care of his troops, tactics, and how
to react in battle. |
